Adult Fundamentals

It’s never too late to start sailing!

It’s never too late to start sailing! Enjoy a fun evening class with other adults to learn the basics of sailing or brush up on their skills. This course will cover the fundamentals of sailing and provide a solid foundation for newcomers. Taught aboard our J22 Keelboat which provides a secure stable ride, large enough cockpit to accommodate four students, plus an instructor onboard.

For adventurous adults that aren’t afraid to get wet and have fun, we will be utilizing the school’s C420 and JY15 sailboats for adult instruction. Be advised the C420 and JY15 are less stable and more physical than our J22 Keelboat. There’s a good chance you will get wet so bring a swimsuit! The class will cover all aspects of boat handling including sailing terminology and boat parts, maneuvers and points of sail, and rules of the road. No prior sailing experience is required. Class sizes limited to 12 students per session.
